Back in 2009 the season’s Rose Bowl, the 96th annual, featured the Ohio State Buckeyes against the Ducks of Oregon. The Buckeyes jumped out to an early 10-point lead in the first quarter but the Ducks managed to get on the board in the 2nd quarter. By halftime, the score was 16-10 in favor of Ohio State.
The Ducks held Ohio State to 3-points in the third while scoring 7 to bring the game to 19-17 in favor of Ohio State. The Buckeyes then managed to hold Oregon scoreless in the fourth while scoring a touchdown to put the game away.
Buckeye QB Terrelle Pryor was named the games Offensive MVP as he passed for a season high 266 yards while rushing for 72 yards. The Ducks DE Kenny Rowe was named the games Defensive MVP, racking up a Rose Bowl Record 3-sacks.
